Pakistan China Relationship

While relations with China have deteriorated, relations between India and neighboring Pakistan have also deteriorated sharply.

Recently, India accused Pakistan of violating the ceasefire agreement along the line of control in Jammu and Kashmir, and the Indian army launched retaliatory strikes. Indian media reported that several Pakistani soldiers were killed and injured in the counterattack.

Indian media also reported that Pakistan took advantage of the India-China border conflict and sent additional troops to near the India-Pakistan ceasefire line (Kashmir) Gilgit and other places in an attempt to invade India. A tanker of the Chinese Air Force was discovered at Skardu Air Force Base in northern Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Ministry of National Defense issued a statement in this regard, denying India’s accusations of invasion, denying the Chinese army’s presence in Pakistan, and accusing India of provocation.

India and Pakistan have had three wars since their respective countries were founded. In 2020, India-Pakistan relations have deteriorated, and conflicts with India and China at the border continue to occur simultaneously, which is cause for concern.

A large number of expulsion of diplomats had previously been publicly stated by India that it would expel half of the staff of the Pakistani High Commission in India (equivalent to the embassy). India blamed Pakistani diplomats for espionage in the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India stated in a public statement that some diplomats of Basquitaine stationed in India “have been engaged in espionage activities and maintained contact with terrorist organizations.”

Subsequently, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded by denying India’s accusations and stating that it would also expel half of the staff of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad "as a reciprocal measure."

According to the report, the latest round of hostilities began on May 31, when India expelled two Pakistani diplomats who were detained for allegedly “engaging in espionage”.

Islamabad refuted India’s allegations as groundless and accused India of violating the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations and the Code of Diplomatic Conduct.
